Earth Day Celebration – “From Our Land and By Our Hand"
Time: 9 am – 5 pm
Location: Amy B.H. Greenwell Ethnobotanical Gardens in Captain Cook
Celebrate Earth Day at the Amy B.H. Greenwell Ethnobotanical Gardens in Captain Cook, home to the South Kona Green Market on Sundays, showcasing local produce, baked goods, crafts and other specialty items. The celebration will begin with the Farmer's Market from 9 a.m. - noon while Earth Day Festivities will commence at noon and continue to 5 p.m. The day will feature special activities like the King's Trail pony rides, live music and entertainment, local art and crafts, an Earth Day play and a “greenest” booth contest. This event will also be practicing the Zero Waste initiative and will be promoting “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle” education. . The event is hosted by the South Kona Green and presented by the Sanctuary of Mana Ke‘a Gardens, a 501 (c) 3 organization and sponsor of events such as the annual Hawai‘i Avocado Festival and others.
