Helping Hands for the Land
Time: 11:30 am – 3 pm
Location: North Hawaii Community Hospital in Waimea
North Hawaii Community Hospital (NHCH) invites the community to celebrate Earth Day by participating in a revitalization of the hospital’s gardens and grounds. The work day is called “Helping Hands for the Land” and volunteers will focus their green thumb efforts on the many garden areas at NHCH which bring joy and healing to patients, visitors and employees. The hospital invites organizations or individuals to join the event. Each organization or group of individuals will be assigned a special garden or area. Community groups may also adopt a garden area to perpetuate its living legacy. Helping Hands participants are asked to bring hats, sunscreen, gloves and garden tools. A barbeque to celebrate the restoration of the gardens and property will follow the clean up. Solimene’s Italian Restaurant will donate chicken to grill; water, paper products, rice, and the grill will be provided - participants are asked to bring a potluck dish to share. RSVP 881-482 or fax 885-1042 with the group name and list of volunteers.
