Kohala Merchants - “We Love Kohala” Celebration
Time:  8:30 am – 7:30 pm
Location: Hawi and Kapaau

Sponsored by the Kohala Merchants organization, this event brings together stores, farmers, artists and residents of the North Kohala communities of Hawi and Kapa‘au to celebrate Hawaii grown or made products, to help promote the importance of local self-reliance and sustainability.  Festivities begin at 8:30 a.m. and run throughout the day, with locally grown plants, flowers and produce for sale, a pet walk, live music on the streets, parking lot and yard sales, and arts and crafts booths.  The Trash Bash Art Show gets under way at 5:30 p.m. (see next item); local shops stay open until 7:30 p.m.  There will be live music at the Bamboo Restaurant and Luke’s that evening.
